In short. ADA Genie is an independent, US-based service that checks school and government websites for accessibility issues every day and hands your team a plain-English fix list. We are a real company run by real people, we are not an overlay widget, and there is nothing to install on your site.

Who's behind ADA Genie

Hi, I'm Brandon. I build and run ADA Genie as an independent software developer in Northeast Ohio, operating as ADA Genie LLC. It is not a reseller or a white-labeled widget, and when you email us, it reaches me, the person who actually works on the product.

I built ADA Genie for a group the big enterprise accessibility vendors tend to overlook: small and mid-sized school districts, municipalities, and public agencies that have a real deadline coming, a website that changes every week, and no dedicated accessibility staff.

How the scan actually works

ADA Genie loads your pages the same way a visitor's browser does, so we test what people actually experience, not just the raw source code. On each page we check things like:

Images without meaningful alt text, including filenames or code accidentally left in place of a real description.
Color contrast, measured pixel by pixel on the rendered page, so we catch low-contrast text that source-only checkers miss.
Headings, links, labels, and structure that screen readers and keyboard users rely on.
PDFs and documents posted to the site, which are a common source of missed issues.

For each issue we capture a screenshot showing exactly where it is, so your team is not hunting for it. ADA Genie also uses AI to help review images and content for potential concerns. Anything the AI raises is flagged for your review and never asserted as fact, so a person always makes the final call.

Every finding is sorted into what your own team can fix in your CMS and what belongs with your website vendor, with the details the vendor needs. Results arrive as one short morning email. There is no dashboard to log into and no new system to learn.

What ADA Genie is not

Not an overlay or accessibility widget. We do not add a script, toolbar, or "accessibility button" to your website, and we do not modify your site in any way. Overlays sit on top of your pages and have drawn criticism and legal complaints of their own. ADA Genie only looks at your pages from the outside, the way a visitor would, and reports back.
Nothing to install. No plugin, no code change, no software for your team to run. We just need your website address.
Not a compliance guarantee. No automated tool, ours included, can certify a website as fully compliant or make legal risk go away. ADA Genie is continuous monitoring and a documented record of your progress. For formal sign-off we recommend pairing it with a one-time professional manual audit, then letting ADA Genie watch for new issues between audits.

One thing worth knowing: under the ADA, responsibility for a public entity's website stays with the entity, even when an outside vendor builds and hosts it. A good vendor handles the template; the day-to-day content your staff posts is where most new issues appear. ADA Genie keeps an eye on both.
